You may be able to save money as well as water by fitting a water meter, especially if you live in a small family unit or alone. Water company web sites have calculators to help to decide whether a meter would be worthwhile for you, and you will need to contact your water supplier to request a meter.

But note that the calculators provided don’t consider every use of water you might have: for example do you have fish ponds, or garden fountains, sourced from your mains supply? You could end up losing out financially if you don’t include all your water usage when calculating.
