If your vehicle is not saleable, then there are plenty of scrap car processors who will dispose of your car for no fee. Make sure you choose an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), and that you obtain a Certificate of Destruction (COD) from them to enable you to cancel your road tax and vehicle registration from DVLC.

Avoid using high pressure jets with no cut off as these waste a lot of water. Use a bucket and cloth, or a hose with a spring loaded nozzle.
A typical car wash uses less than half the water you would use to wash your car at home. Some car washes recycle water.
Lift Sharing

Lift sharing is different to car sharing: lift sharing means sharing your car with another person, whereas car sharing means taking it in turns to use the vehicle.
Motorcycles and Scooters

Motorcycles are more fuel efficient than cars, and therefore have lower emissions. They are also more nimble in heavy traffic. Fuel efficiency of motor bikes has improved considerably over the last 10 years, but the death rate for users has got worse.
