Children learn all the time, without even trying. The more you promote caring for the environment, and talk about green issues while they are children, the more natural it will seem to them to continue that behaviour when they grow up.

Walking buses are schemes to take children to and from school. They are usually run by parents, who take it in turn to volunteer their services. Children and picked up and deposited at set points along the route at specific times.
