Ovens

Kettles

kettleWe all put too much water in our kettles every time we fill it. You only need to put in enough to a) cover the element and b) fill your cup(s) or whatever. Only 26% of people ever look at the water gauge.

When making coffee, the optimum water temperature is 85-90oC, not 100oC as it is out of a boiling kettle, which affects the taste.

Dishwashers

dishwasherThere is a running debate over whether dishwashers are a more energy efficient method of washing dishes than hand washing. This probably indicates that there is not much in it!

On the face of it, a dishwasher looks to be 2.5 times more efficient than handwashing, but:
