Recycling Televisions

If sets are still working, take them to a charity or second-hand shop, or donate them to someone you know needs one.
Televisions are classed as hazardous waste:, the inside of the CRT screen is coated with phosphor; and they often contain BFRs (brominated flame retardants) in the circuit boards, some of which are extremely poisonous. Your local waste disposal site will take broken TVs, so they can be disposed of properly (up to 98% of a TV can be recycled).
