Recycling Shoes
Charity shops will take pairs of shoes in good condition.
In many areas clothing and shoe banks are co-located with other recycling facilities. These will usually specify the charity for whom they are being collected. The European Recycling Company Limited is responsible for many specialist shoes collection facilities. They take shoes in just about any condition and send them to developing countries. Refurbishment of shoes is then done by local people, so boosting the economy by providing work.
Always tie the pairs of shoes together – if they get separated they are no good to anyone!
Just because the sole is worn it doesn’t mean you have to ditch them – you can probably get them repaired for a tenner.
