Death Plans
A death plan is a document which allow you to take control of how you plan to die. It should be made when you are relatively healthy, and in a fit state of mind. It covers the medical treatment you wish to receive (or not receive), who you wish to visit you (or not), your wishes for your funeral, and anything else you wish to specify. You should talk it through with a close friend or relative, or your doctor, to make sure everything you request is reasonable and legal, and ensure that a signed copy is added to your medical records. The British Medical Association regards them as “binding”. If your GP is not happy about it, remember you can change your GP.
More information, and standard forms, are available from The Natural Death Centre .
